Anabelen Diaz was born and raised on the westside of Chicago. She is the daughter of immigrants and a product of CPS. She completed her Bachelors of Public Health with a Sociology minor from UIC in 2016. Anabelen is also an alum of the Urban Public Policy Fellowship (UPPF) program where she interned at the Latino Policy Forum. After graduation, Anabelen worked as a Research Associate for an oral health study at the UIC Institute for Health Research and Policy. She is currently enrolled at the Jane Addams College of Social Work and the School of Public Health where she will be completing the MSW/MPH joint degree program. Anabelen will be focusing on mental health and health policy to reduce health disparities and improve health outcomes in Chicago.
