UIC Office of Undergraduate Research

UIC supports undergraduate research, scholarly and creative activities through a number of programs. The multitude of available programs provides undergraduates with a variety of research opportunities. The Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Affairs sponsors two programs that provide students with an opportunity to conduct research under the guidance of a faculty mentor.

The Undergraduate Research Experience (URE) involves students in faculty-lead research in all disciplines-sciences, humanities, and the arts.

The Chancellor's Undergraduate Research Award (CURA) allows a number of students to be paid for their undergraduate research experience through Federal Work Study funding.

To support student participation in undergraduate research, the Office of Special Scholarship Programs has created the Funding for Undergraduate Research Guidebook for current undergraduate students at UIC.
